The president of the Mazda car club I'm a part of owns a 2004 Mazda6 2.3 5-speed. She bought it new in the spring of 2004. Tonight, it hit 300,000 miles. Original engine and transmission. Only things replaced have been the steering rack and the clutch. Neither of those failed, but were becoming very worn and sloppy feeling at about 270,000. Still averages around 26 MPG city/highway and does over 30 MPG on long trips.
